Gili Trawangan

Snorkeling

This is where I decided to get over my fear of the ocean and go snorkelling for the first time ever in my life. I got into the ocean and felt like I have never been more free in my life. I took that lifejacket off and swam with the fishies. I saw turtles and statues of mermaids and men. I learned this very awesome trick from one of my best mates back home.. take some rice with you and fill up your fist. Slowly let some out at a time and watch all the fishies come gather together. Best experience ever. We even got to visit Gili Meno during the trip!

Biking

We were able to bike around the entire Gili Island in an hour. It was absolutely stunning. I'm sure this is where I got my tan.. which still hasn't faded away.

Bali

Tegalalang Rice Field

Absolutely lush and full of the most beautiful nature, trees and scenery. Wear tons of mosquito repellent because the rice paddies are full of insects. If you want to be "extra" they have instagram famous swings all over the place and dresses you can rent for those "perfect pictures". I decided not to and just enjoy myself in the fields as is. You pay a small donation to get in.

Coffee Plantation

We were lucky enough to hire a driver for the day that took us to a few places in Ubud. It was totally worth it. This was a coffee plantation which we could walk through for free. We saw some very amazing avocado plants, banana, fruits and veggies etc. We then got to the terrace where we could taste over 10 different types of coffee. If you were really feeling it you could pay a bit extra and taste some of the Luwak Coffee. Luwak coffee is basically Cat Poo Chino.. A type of animals poo coffee basically..

Tirta Gangga

Water from the Ganges. It has got some of the most beautiful Koi Fishes and an absolutely beautiful place to just hang out and relax.

Finns Beach Club

We rang in 2020 at an amazing beach club. Amazing music and an amazing sunset and an amazing countdown.

Probolinggo

My bus and ferry to Probolinggo was a nightmare. Probably the most scared I had been during the trip because I was traveling to an area where there weren't many other travellers. I met such nice locals on the way that helped me reach my destination. when I did reach my hostel.. the owner was an absolute treasure. He is a friend I will forever keep. He showed me around town, drove me to get my broken backpack fixed, took me to some hidden gems and introduced me to the locals.

Mt Bromo

I woke up at 2 am. A jeep picked us up and by 3 am I was at the bottom of this mountain ready to climb up. It was cold and boy was it dark. Once we got to the top, I saw the most incredible sunrise hike ever. The sun and the clouds were just sooo perfect. I couldn't believe that this was my life and that this is what I was actually experiencing and seeing. After hiking back down we got to take the jeeps into the sand and dunes by the volcano. We then hiked up this beautiful volcano called Mt. Bromo. I got to the top and just took a breathe.. Amy this is you. This is your energy, your spirit, your body.. this is you spiritually alive at Mt Bromo. How the heck was this happening? It was surreal. As we were walking back down it started raining like I have never seen before. As we reached the bottom.. I saw this huge rainbow.. It didn't end. It was a full rainbow. The first full rainbow I have ever seen in my life. There it was in front of Mt. Bromo. Locals around me were sooo surprised... They had never seen this before. I just knew.. I was so lucky and blessed to be there in that moment.

Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta. Also known as Jogjakarta or Jogja.

Sultan Palace/Water Castle

I went on a walking tour that was over 25 km. The sultans palace was absolutely incredible. I mean I have said this about every other place I visited in South East Asia.. but I couldn't get enough. I was able to visit the cemetary of all the past kings. I saw the palace where the first king ruled. It was breathtaking and a part of history I was so glad to learn.

Kraton/Kings Palace

This was the palace where previous kings lived and where the current king now lives. It was gorgeous and we got to see an incredible performance take place.

Malioboro Road

This was the main road for souvenirs, food, entertainment, shopping and full of Batik Art. Everywhere you looked.
